Position Overview

NuWest is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner for an outpatient primary care opportunity in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The FNP will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics, with an emphasis on diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management, and preventive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations across all age groups
\n
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries, and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma
\n
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans
\n
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications, including controlled substances, per scope of practice
\n
• Provide preventive care, including wellness exams, screenings, and immunizations
\n
• Educate patients and families on disease management, healthy lifestyle choices, and treatment plans
\n
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care team members, and refer patients as needed
\n
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR in compliance with regulatory standards
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Active Colorado Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license
\n
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
\n
• Current BLS certification
\n
• Active DEA registration
\n
• Must be able to pass required background checks and drug screening
\n
